Laminated glass is manufactured by bonding two or more layers of glass together with the help of interlayers under heat and pressure to create a single sheet of glass.
STANDARDS
AS/NZS2208:1996 compliant
WARRANTY
5 years from date of manufacture
Depending on the type of interlayer used, laminated glass offers the following benefits:
1. Safety
In the event of breakage, the glass fragments are held together by the interlayer. This prevents glass fragments from falling onto building occupants or contains the occupants in barrier applications.
2. Sound Insulation
The interlayer provides a dampening effect and has a higher sound insulation compared to monolithic glass.
3. Solar Control
An interlayer with UV blocking properties or tinted interlayer can be used to provide enhanced solar control for the building’s occupants.
4. Fire Resistance
In fire resistant laminates, the interlayer will block heat from the source to provide extra time for the building occupants to escape.
