Ceramic frit is applied to the glass using a screen printing machine or a roller printing machine and the glass is tempered to ensure the ceramic frit is permanently sintered to the surface of the glass. This results in a decorative finish which is highly resistant to wear. This form of printing is highly suited to repetitive patterns.
Silk screen printed glass can also be used as a solar control element, blocking and reflecting solar energy.
